It was a tragic historical event that involved the capture and exportation and exploitation of human beings who were forced into labor with no freedom of movement or choice. However, the reality of the situation is that slavery still exists today, and on an even greater scale than it did many years ago. That form of slavery is human trafficking. It is commonly referred to as modern-day slavery†. People are still stripped of human dignity, choice and human rights on a grand scale.
